MARYLAND DIETITIAN

Hi! I’m Molly Rusch, principal of Tidewater Nutrition.

I’m a Registered Dietitian and Certified Personal Trainer with over 20 years experience. I founded Tidewater Nutrition to bring credible nutrition counseling to the people who wanted it and needed it the most. I’ve spent my fair share of time frustrated by the limitations of our current health system and the diagnose and treat approach.

I have watched countless patients bandage their health with medications, surgeries, and medical devices who would have benefited greatly from good nutrition, healthy lifestyle or weight loss.  I’ve also worked with plenty of physicians who believed in the benefits of good nutrition but did not have the time or expertise to advise patients properly or did not have a registered dietitian to refer to. Now, I’m here for you!

A dedicated student athlete, my interest in nutrition for health, performance, and recovery started early on.

I decided to major in Nutrition at University of Delaware where I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Dietetics with a minor in Biology in 2001. It was then that I also learned how my unique childhood paved the way for a career helping people be well through nutrition. I was fortunate that my parents actively gardened, canned, froze and cooked our food at home. A fresh, unprocessed, whole foods diet was all I had known. That upbringing gives me incredible perspective to help clients implement a whole foods approach in their own lives.

I went on to obtain certification as a personal trainer to be a recognized professional in the fitness industry and offer clients the marriage of nutrition and exercise counseling. As it is truly both nutrition and exercise that optimize and protect our health. Finally, I earned a Master’s degree from University of Alabama (Roll Tide) in Human Nutrition to deepen my understanding of metabolic syndromes and pediatrics. I also hold advanced certification in weight management.

My background, formal education, and over two decades in healthcare have prepared me to help you now.

I can help you feel better, have more energy, lose weight, decrease medications, improve athletic performance or even just be able to play with your grandchildren.

I provide judgment-free, supportive nutrition counseling in-person or via telehealth to suit your preferences and to make sure time and distance are not obstacles in getting the care you deserve. I understand the busy days of our modern life and use a practical approach to offer nutrition solutions you can implement into your daily routine.

In addition to being a registered dietitian, certified personal trainer, and small business owner, I am the mom to 3 awesome and active girls, a wife, and a volleyball coach. I’m a native of Maryand’s Eastern Shore (Talbot County) and returned here (Queen Anne’s County) after college and a 10 year stint in Annapolis. I am so happy to provide nutrition services in my home community and I look forward to helping you with your health goals at Tidewater Nutrition.
